Visceral Response

This is a photo I took last month off my iPhone when I was snowboarding on the backside of Timpanogos Mountain in Utah County. This Mountain is Notorious for its incredibly steep slopes and masterful heights. To me this image captures the feeling of weightlessness, similar to the feeling you get in your stomach right before your descent down a roller coaster ride. Not only because your looking off the edge of a near vertical mountain, but also the weightless feeling I get when snowboarding in waist deep powder. In contrast to that I also get this feeling of peace and tranquility coming from many different features. First and most obvious is the wide variety of blues and whites that give you this heavenly feeling inside. Also you have these low energy horizontal/diagonal lines coming from the metamorphic rock formations visible on the mountain across the canyon, as well the horizontal line of the horizon. However, many steep high energy diagonal lines are also present, representing the gradient of the mountain slopes. Lastly, the low lying clouds in the valley make you feel as if your up in the stratosphere. All in all this photo is truly stupefying in my opinion.
